Sweetness 7

*STILL working on the post about last weekend’s trip to Ohio… Enjoy this in the meantime!

So, Friday after Christmas, Regina and I FINALLY (and I mean finally–we hadn’t seen each other since JULY) got together for a brunch date.  Where did we go? A cute-as-can-be little creperie in Buffalo near the zoo.  Andrew and I had actually pointed it out before while driving by and remarked that it was a must-try.

We ordered coffee first–a regular for her and a Vanilla Ginger Latte for me.  I was all set to get a regular coffee (cheaper, fewer calories), but the word ‘ginger’ on the menu caught my eye and I couldn’t resist.

There was even a hunk of crystallized ginger in the mug!  I would definitely get it again.  Andrew is a huge crepe fan (who knew?), so I’m sure we’ll find our way back there at some point.

When we decided on our breakfast, it was a nutella and banana topped crepe for Regina and a baked-brie-filled, sauteed apples-topped crepe for me.  Heavenly.

And, fingers-crossed, Regina and I have another date coming up next week.  This time, we’ll probably partake in a little frozen yogurt…

It’s January 8.  I know.  Forgive me.

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, an unbelievably Happy New Year and that things are going smoothly so far.  I’ve resolved to eat better (like everyone else on the planet), work out more (like everyone else on the planet) and stress less (again, like everyone else on the planet).  Which of course will mean that Andrew will lose weight and I’ll gain it…  Just kidding!

Just returned from my Ohio trip and took the morning off (there goes resolution two about working out more) to get my house and brain organized for the week.  I’ve already blogged for the co-op, sent a few emails and am about to either run or run errands…

Yawn…. Stretch….

Good morning, gentle readers. It’s almost 8 a.m. And I’m blogging from my snuggle-y bed here at Emily’s.

Look what greeted me when I arrived:

We enjoyed a spread of veggies and dip, homemade pizza on a wrap and tea while we chatted. After I got settled in, we left the house in search of slippers (for me–I scored a cute pair of TEAL Dearforms on clearance for $9 at DSW), hair spray (for both of us), an Ulta run and dinner.

After a quick Target stop, we decided we’d do dinner at Emily’s instead, so we grabbed some pita chips and spinach, too.

We got home and Emily whipped up some cold salmon salad, apples, cheese, crackers and veggies. We sipped wine while listening to Christmas music and talking.

I’ve been lazing here in bed for about an hour so now it is time to get up!
