Deep Creek Lake 2023
This was the fourth year the Layers all headed to the lake, and it may have been our best yet. We had incredible weather all week (!!!), and I felt like we had a nice mix of group fun and individual downtime. The house is perfect for us, everything felt familiar, and I finally finished a seven-day book (I knew it would be a mistake when I borrowed it.) I’d been renewing for more than a month.

The third annual Layer lake vacation in Maryland was just about as perfect as they get. This is not to say our previous vacations were the pits; simply that we had the best weather than before, stayed in a bigger, more beautiful house than before, and had–dare I say it–more fun than before.
