I just did four seven-hour drives in the past week. When did I sign up for that?! It was exhausting, but totally worth it. First, I drove solo (which is far more uncomfortable for that long now that I’m five months pregnant) to Ohio to spend a weekend with my bestie, Emily; then I jumped in the car with Andrew the day after returning home to accompany him on a business trip to Alexandria, Va!
Last year’s Christmas build-up and celebration were a bit of a blur, as these things tend to be the older we get. While I don’t aspire to be one of those women who are finished shopping by Dec. 1, I do dream of a day I’m not racing around Christmas Eve morning running errands. Last weekend, I drove to DC to attend the baby shower of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Betsy, who I met in college through Air Force ROTC and who was my maid of honor at my wedding.
