Good Food is the Greatest Gift

As I sat, the day before my deadline, pondering what to write, the phrase ‘the gift of food preparation’ came to mind.

Really, it boils down to the gift of time, right?  It’s the one thing we all need a bit more of, especially this time of year.

I know future Holly is always very happy that past Holly made an egg bake earlier in the week, which provides a high-protein, veggie-packed breakfast in the time it takes to microwave a piece.

The Best Carbs are Not Processed

Our third installment of the macronutrient series is about Carbohydrates.  Last month, I wrote about fat, and how important it is to vitamin absorption, hormone production and simply our experience with food.  Fat promotes satiety (i.e. feelings of fullness) and adds flavor and texture to foods—don’t go fat-free!

The ABCs of ACV

Are you as intrigued about the hype over apple cider vinegar as I am?  I realize I’m a bit late to this party, as apple cider vinegar (ACV) usage really picked up a few years ago.  Now that I think about it, the shampoo and conditioner I’ve been using for awhile has ACV, so perhaps that counts…
