it was less than a Celebration…

…but at least we got a little more Disney at the end!

After we said goodbye to Disney World and our family, Andrew, Maelle and I moved on to the third and final stop of our trip: Celebration, Fl. Andrew had another conference at a Disney property (!!!) the following week, so we stayed with him for a few more days. Our hotel is the white building on the left:

Unfortunately, Maelle got a terrible stomach bug, so we didn’t end up doing much of anything. Whomp whomp. Thankfully, our hotel room in Celebration was a fine place for us to lay low, but a hotel is the LAST place you want your kid to be running for the bathroom…

The hotel was situated on a network of small ponds within a residential area, and I got out for a few walks while she was still recovering. Once Maelle was better, the three of us rented bikes and rode around the ponds. We even saw an alligator in one of them!

The day before Andrew’s conference we arrived at the Coronado Springs Resort (a Disney resort!) before check-in, so we headed over to the pool to kill some time.

We had a show to go to soon, so I skipped the pool in favor of a margarita (!!!) but Andrew and Maelle jumped right in! There was even a water slide!

We saw the Cirque du Soleil show at Disney Springs, called Drawn to Life. It was perfect for kids and we enjoyed it very much.

After the show, we went to Jaleo for dinner, which we also enjoyed very much! This spinach dish was SO GOOD. I want to recreate it at home.

The next morning, we made sure to get Mickey waffles for breakfast!

We only had one day to enjoy the Disney resort, and it was raining, so we couldn’t hang by the pool. Andrew had to work in the room, so Maelle and I went exploring. Once he was finished, we all rode the Skyliner!

We visited Pop Century, Art of Animation and Riviera resorts. The Skyliner was so fun–it’s definitely something I’d consider if we ever choose to stay at a Disney resort. We all loved Art of Animation–I think it got all our votes for ‘best resort for kids.’ I loved the pool area the best!

Our trip to Florida really helped us with our 1000 Hours Outside! Once I got home and tracked our hours, we had surpassed 100, before the end of February! (I choose two or three colors to alternate when we travel.). We got half of the first 100 just in two weeks in Florida!

We’re officially Disney converts and can’t wait to go back! Also, Florida in the winter is LIFE-GIVING 🙂
