ice cream & skiing

One of our favorite ‘holidays’ is National Ice Cream for Breakfast day, which falls on the first Saturday in February. Our local artisan ice cream place, which is also just a few blocks from our house, opens at 7 am that day with breakfast-themed flavors. Pajamas are encouraged.

Usually, I’d be in my jammies too, but I was headed out from here to go skiing at Holiday Valley!

A friend of mine from church, who is also a veteran, got me hooked up with a local veteran’s group–Higher Ground–and I joined them on an all-day skiing event! Holiday Valley is a much larger ski resort than Kissing Bridge, so it was a real treat to go somewhere with so many more runs. To top it off, it was a beautiful (but cold!) blue sky day!

I skied most of the day with my friend and a new friend, and I was also able to ski a bit with a good friend from home who skis there every weekend. It was a lovely day and a huge blessing to have some adult time, outside, being active, with beautiful weather.
