Shortly after our beach trip, our back windows arrived and were installed. It was so nice to have light in that back room again! Click here to see what the room looked like for the previous few months.
We hadn’t initially planned to replace the back windows, but when we took one of them out (creating an asymmetric combo of remaining windows) to make the mudroom at the back door, AND we were able to save some money by laying our own wood floor, we decided to go ahead and replace them all.
Believe it or not, we actually had more glass with the old windows! But, with the new shape of the room and our desire to have maximum ‘glass’ (without lots of trim in between or the need to re-support the wall) and open the windows, this was the best configuration we could come up with. We debated about the number, size, and placement of these windows for weeks. We were still firming up the order while we were driving up to the Toronto airport for our trip to Paris in June!

We aren’t exactly sure what color trim we’ll do–Andrew wants black, I want white–or what we’ll do on the walls yet–paint or wallpaper–but hopefully those decisions will be made soon! I’m ready for our house to get put back together 🙂
