Let’s just say the 73 steps (!!!) were worth it.
Dijon was our first experience using Airbnb, and the charming ‘home under the Burgundian rooftops’ did not disappoint in the slightest. In fact, it was perhaps the cutest, most quaint two-room apartment in which we’ve ever set foot.
But first, the stairs.
They were epic. It didn’t take long to realize we were going to have to actually count how many there were. Seventy-three. Here they are, in order, starting with a short hallway off one of the main roads:

Second landing:

Taking the door on the left side of the landing:
Itty-bitty spiral staircase:
At the top of the spiral stairs in a small landing with local guidebooks and a city map drawn on a chalkboard wall. So bummed I didn’t get a photo of that!
Through another (and final!) door, you come to a living space, split between a beautiful, updated kitchen:
and a sitting area:
Through the doorway is the bedroom:
The bathroom, for European standards, is spacious:
While we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room relaxing (why would we?), we did end up using the kitchen, so I was glad to have a new oven with which to work and space.
Most of all, I loved the decor. Bright colors, strings of lights, modern with a quaint twist–I loved it all.
