Fake Spring 2025

We just enjoyed some seriously good, seriously unseasonable weather! ‘Fake Spring’ had everyone out and about for a few days and it was glorious.

Last week, we had a couple nice days, and I used an entire afternoon to clean out my car. Maelle went next door to play outside with the neighbor kids for a couple hours, and I took advantage of the time to really deep clean the entire vehicle. I REALLY love a clean car, and this time of year is when I’m SO READY to get all the winter muck and salt out.

Earlier this week, we had a shockingly nice day (70s!), so we ate lunch outside in our camp chairs. It’s a bit early to get our patio furniture out, as our weather turns cold again in the next day or so. But, since we’re doing the 1000 Hours Outside this year, I’d like to get the furniture out earlier so we can…

…do school outside! We brought our library books, copywork and homework outside to kill two birds with one stone: time outside and school!

While we aren’t quite out of winter yet (it was 29 degrees this morning!), I’m looking forward to more sunlight, warmer temperatures and the ease of getting outside without bundling up!
