Maelle started soccer for the first time this fall! It was so fun to watch her interact with her teammates and begin to learn the skills.
Maelle seemed to be on the young side, and at least half of the girls on her team had played before. This was her first time playing a sport in a league, and she did really well following directions from her coaches. We loved her coaches this year; one is our neighbor, so it was nice for Maelle to already know her daughter before joining the team. Another girl on her team is the daughter of a gal in my book club–East Aurora is a small world!
Her practices began right before our beach vacation, and we actually left a day early to get home in time for her first game.
The season lasted into mid-October, and her skills and enthusiasm grew from beginning to end. At her age group (U6-under six), they don’t really keep score during the games. As a proud parent, its just so fun to watch the kiddos run around and try to get the ball!
We’re excited for soccer again next spring!
