We have a kindergartener! Per usual, Maelle missed the first two weeks of school because we were at the beach, so her first day was later in September.
This year, Maelle attends a ‘morning kindergarten’ program called CR Assist, which is a homeschooling co-op’ at a local church. (Technically, it’s NOT a co-op, but for lack of an easier way to describe it, I’m using that term.) She goes Monday through Friday from 9-12, and then she and I do a little more ‘school’ on our own. My goal is to work toward homeschooling almost completely at home, but I also think there is a lot of value in Maelle having classmates, a teacher, and weekly structure.
Right now, I’m using Treehouse Schoolhouse‘s Nature Study, which is a beautifully done curriculum that includes music, art, poetry, literature and science. This year, we’re just scratching the surface, and it’s something we’ll use year after year and do more of the crafts and science projects each time.
Additionally, we just started Foundation Worldview‘s Early Childhood Worldview course, which teaches young children some basic truths (example: right and wrong are truths, not feelings) through the lens of scripture. Foundation Worldview has a handful of courses designed for children that I plan to incorporate as we go along.

(She was very adamant about wearing this black shirt on her first day. Ha!) Also, please enjoy the green zip-wall on the house–still no siding yet!
And, just for fun, here are some more photos of our goofy girl 🙂

I’m really excited to start our homeschooling journey!
