One of the neat things about living in East Aurora is that it is home to the headquarters of Fisher Price!
I signed Maelle up for their ‘Cast & Play Crew,’ which is a group of kids who have the opportunity to ‘model’ for the packaging and advertising materials. Basically, we get an invite to come, they provide an outfit and ‘do’ her hair, and she plays with a toy while they take photos or videos. Then, approximately six months later, I have to do an (extensive) online search for the toy to see if she was actually featured on the packaging!
So far, she’s participated four or five times, and we recently found her in a video for one of the first toys for which she modeled! It was so fun to find her in the promo! This is the Thomas and Friends ‘Talking Cranky’ and you can find the video here.
It’s certainly been fun to watch, and she enjoys it. (She didn’t love the Power Wheels jeep she had to drive last summer, probably because she’d never driven one before!) I’ve even done a little ‘parent modeling’ as well, which is fun, too. I figure we might as well take advantage of this fun opportunity while we can!
